Artists’ Bios

Amanda Tetreault is a senior at SUNY Plattsburgh pursuing a BFA in studio art with a double concentration in photography and drawing and a minor in art history. She is from Champlain, NY, and most of her work reflects the area in and around her home, or places where she has made a home.

Gabi Basile is a junior English major at SUNY Geneseo. She spends her time fencing, metal-working, and waiting for it to be sunny. She loves old fantasy novels and spruce trees for their smell among other things. Gabi is from Poughkeepsie, NY.

Jane Galletti is currently a senior at SUNY Plattsburgh with a double concentration in painting and ceramics and an art history minor. She is the president of the Plattsburgh Association of Visual Arts and is active in her community as a local artist. She also works full time as a travel agent, which aids in seeing artwork abroad.

Brittany Leonard is studying art at SUNY Plattsburgh. In her work, she is interested in making public what many wish to keep private, bringing issues such as mental illness into the light. Her work depends greatly on color and how color interacts with the mind. This is the aspect within her work that she finds most challenging and intriguing.

Taylor Whyte is a sort of senior at SUNY Plattsburgh. She’s planning on completing her BFA this year so she can finally graduate. She has already completed her degree in psychology which she did for the sake of her parents. Without them and the faculty and staff in the art department, Taylor is not sure what she would even be doing.

Robert Guitsy Wolf is a student at SUNY Plattsburgh. His paintings examine objects from the past that contain meanings for the future.

Deanna Wolfe is a student at SUNY Plattsburgh. “We Own the Crowns” is inspired by recent events of police brutality in America. Her work is a reflection of her life as a young black woman. It is also a call to action for unity and understanding of black lives in this country.
