Rachel Hall | Faculty Advisor

Rachel Hall is the author of Heirlooms (BkMk Press, 2016) which was selected by Marge Piercy for the G.S. Sharat Chandra Book Prize. Her stories and essays have been published in numerous journals and anthologies, including Crab Orchard Review, Gettysburg Review, New Letters, Guernica Daily and LitHub. She teaches creative writing and literature at Geneseo where she holds two Chancellor’s Award for Excellence–one for teaching and one for creative work.


Lily Codera | Managing Editor

Lily Codera is a senior English (creative writing) major at SUNY Geneseo, with minors in philosophy and geology. She currently has five plants, which are all currently still alive. After she graduates, she plans to pursue an MFA in poetry, teach English abroad, and to continue adding to her collection of words and rocks.

 


Meghan Fellows | Managing Editor

Meghan is a senior English (creative writing) major at SUNY Geneseo. She enjoys old library books, writing pieces that can never be finished, and drinking coffee in cups that are far too big. She aspires to be the cool English teacher on campus who has a huge comfy couch in her office.

 


Heather Molzon | Webmaster & Fiction Reader

Heather Molzon is a senior English (creative writing) major and communications minor from Long Island. After graduating, she hopes to pursue a career in marketing and move to New York City. In her free time, Heather can be found flipping through the pages of a magazine with a cup of coffee close by.

 


Francesco Bruno | Fiction Editor

Francesco Bruno is a senior English and philosophy double major at SUNY Geneseo. After graduating, he hopes to have a pet goat and learn how to make his own maple syrup. He can be found in his dorm studying to become a sommelier.

 


Olivia Cockerham | Art Editor

Olivia Cockerham is a senior English major and anthropology minor at SUNY Geneseo, where she tries to make time in between writing for more writing. She grew up on a mountain where the woods shimmer, in a house named after the moon…so the whole poetry thing was kind of inevitable, when you think about it.

 


Grace Gilbert | CNF Editor 

Grace is currently studying Childhood/Special Education and English (creative writing) at SUNY Geneseo. She is excited about vegan crockpot dishes, anything ever touched by Jorie Graham, and Elton John’s newly-announced farewell tour (which she would sell a kidney to attend).

 


Noah Mazer | Poetry Editor

Noah Mazer is a poetry editor for Issue 6.2 of Gandy Dancer. He’s from Manhattan, New York, where every dog in the city respectfully refrained from barking on the day he was born.

 

 


Arianna Miller | Poetry Editor 

Ari Miller is a senior at SUNY Geneseo and has previously been published in Gandy Dancer. She studies English (creative writing) and Adolescent Education, hoping to inspire her future students to fall in love with words as she did. Ari plans on pursuing an MFA in poetry following graduation.

 


Casey Vincelette | Fiction Editor

Casey Vincelette is a granddaughter, daughter, sister, stepsister, APO brother, rat mom, housemate, co-chair, fiction editor, Head Interviewer, youth mentor, Logic TA, Writing Learning Center tutor, Community Service Assistant, former intern six times over, extroverted omnivert, casual painter, shower-singer, cooking novice, bicyclist, frantic hiker, self-critic, secret quasi-Italian, and a senior English (creative writing) and communication double major with aspirations of going into advertising.


William Antonelli | Fiction Reader

William Antonelli is a senior English (creative writing) and Adolescent Education major with a minor in Black Studies. Hailing from New York City, his work deals with social justice, particularly queer and racial issues, with a special focus on diverse representation in popular media. He loves poetry and almost all forms of music, and when he’s not writing, he’s either tutoring or reading bad fanfiction.

 


Taylor Johnson | Fiction Reader

Taylor is a junior English (literature) and psychology double major at SUNY Geneseo. She spends her time reading young adult novels and educating others about their zodiac signs. After college, she hopes to finally have a cat and continue working with children with disabilities.

 


Shannon Marlatt | Fiction Reader 

Shannon is a junior English (literature) and communication double major at SUNY Geneseo. After college, she hopes to one day work for a nonprofit organization or a college. This aspired future must also have a chubby lap dog and good blankets. In her free time, she likes to play Quidditch, spend time with loved ones, and eat copious amounts of food.

 


Sean Welch | Fiction Reader 

Sean is a junior English (literature) major, also studying Adolescent Education. He likes to read, run, and eat cheese, and he’s hoping the creativity observed in this class rubs off on him.

 

 


 

Elizabeth Verrastro | Fiction Reader

Liz is a senior English (literature) major with a minor in psychology. She’s loved to read fiction ever since she discovered Meg Cabot’s books as a child. Liz even got to meet Meg, but was not told she was the princess of Genovia, which put a damper on things. Liz also works as a RESTORE advocate, and practices lots of self-care by binge watching Law & Order SVU.

 


Deagan Voorheis | Fiction Reader 

Deagan Voorheis is a junior Childhood/Special Education major with a concentration in English from Brockport, NY. She spends most of her time behind on work, taking Buzzfeed quizzes, and looking up plane tickets to travel around the world with friends.

 


Francesca Barlowe | CNF Reader

Francesca is an English and Adolescent Education double major with a concentration in creative writing. She is a thrower on the Women’s Track and Field and can usually be found around campus going to or from practice. In her minimal spare time, she like to drink English breakfast tea and cook elaborate dishes to share with her twin sister.

 


Sophie Boka | CNF Reader 

Sophie Boka is a senior Comparative Literature major minoring in French. Often lost in thought constellations, she, too, loves exploring the world outside her head, especially when it involves discussion of peers’ works. On the rare occasion she’s not tucked away in the library’s quiet section, you can find her jogging about town, meticulously organizing her planner, or convincing someone to go Zero Waste.

 


Colin Kern | CNF Reader

Colin Kern is a Business major at SUNY Geneseo who is taking a fifth year to complete an English minor. After traveling to the country of Sri Lanka over the summer of 2017, Colin discovered his love for writing and decided to continue his education in a new direction. Although he is only minoring in English, he plans to use his education to fulfill a career in journalism. After graduating in May, Colin plans to return to his hometown in North Carolina to continue his writing in the hopes of being published by several small publishers.


Alisa Mentor | CNF Reader

Alisa Mentor is senior communications major with a double track in journalism and interpersonal and professional communication. She discovered her love of reading at a young age and went on to become the Knight Life Section Editor of The Lamron in her sophomore year. She hopes to start her own magazine in the future.

 


Kaitlin Pfundstein | CNF Reader 

Kaitlin is currently a senior studying Adolescent Education with a concentration in English. She is envolved with the Geneseo Student Association and is an aspiring middle school principal, which she has been told is her aesthetic.

 


Grace Rowan | CNF Reader

Grace Rowan is a senior Childhood Special Education and English (literature) double major from Long Island, New York. After graduating, she hopes to attend graduate school to pursue a career as a Reading Specialist. In her free time, Grace can most likely be found in Starbucks planning the SUNY Geneseo’s Relay For Life event with Heather Molzon.

Clayton Smith is a senior at SUNY Geneseo majoring in Communication (digital media and journalism), and minoring in Business Studies and English.

 

 


Emily Sterns | Public Relations & CNF Reader

Emily is a senior English (literature) major and sociology minor. She has previously worked on Gandy Dancer for issue 5.2, in the spring of 2017. She is happy to be back working on the journal, this time as the public relations manager.

Madeline Yousey in a junior at SUNY Geneseo. She is majoring in Anthropology and English with a minor in Piano Pedagogy.

Rachel Lintz is a junior at SUNY Geneseo studying Childhood and Special Education with a concentration in English. Originally from Rochester, she spends her free time writing poetry and eating garbage plates.

Steven Minurka is currently working towards a BA in English (creative writing). His mild addiction to coffee has him tempted to add a minor in music and save the world…eventually.

Jenelle Piatt is a freshman English and Adolescent Education major at SUNY Geneseo. She is from Lancaster, New York.

 

 


Cameron Rustay | Poetry Reader 

Cameron Rustay is a junior English major and biology minor at SUNY Geneseo. He enjoys caring for his numerous plants and listening to alternative music on his record player. He also enjoys the occasional excursion to McDonald’s.

Courtney Statt is a junior English (literature) major at SUNY Geneseo. She wakes up with pen marks on her every morning because she falls asleep with a pen every night.
