Reef is Just a Synonym for Heaven
My brother died on the 8th that year
They said when he was little, he loved swimming
I imagine him as a fish, every now and again
Some beautiful rainbow trout with gaping lips
Or maybe a harmonious koi fish with whiskers
So now the sea hums, every time I walk close
Inviting me to dip my fingertips in
And maybe kiss my brother’s cool cheek one last time.
