Fringes of Photographs
grey swirling clouds
lurk upon the
world’s edges darkening
the chemically altered
page of summer day
blues and oranges
permeating the breath of the
gap-toothed girl bathed in
white
lilies and bleeding hearts
weighing down her feeble hands
callused paws of her
Father squeezing her waist
wine-red Mother—woman
clings to stained glasses
snuck in her purse
ignoring calls of LOOK HERE
scowling
stare transfixed
on the gap-toothed girl with her tight-lipped smile.
