Stars Turn Cold

The River I took you to back in July
Was running so lively, but now it ran dry

Drove up to the mountains and thought of you

And me watching the harvest moon

In August I promised I’d write you a song

And now we are singing it all day long

We looked at the sky and the stars looked at us and they smiled

And it’s been

Over a year since I first saw your face

And I know, my life will never be the same

And when I travel, wherever I go

Just know that I’ll love you till the stars turn cold

And by the way, though I think you know,

That I’ll still care for you when we both grow old

I thought that I saw you when I was in Greece

But then again maybe it was the heat

I gave you a tour of my home back in Europe

But you loved the garden the most

And when you travel, wherever you’ll go,

Just know that I’ll love you till the stars turn cold

And by the way, though I think you know,

That I’ll still care for you when we both grow old

Kiss me softly as I fall asleep upon your chest

Take me places I have never seen, oh darlin’ you’re the best

And when I travel wherever I go

Just know that I love you till the stars turn cold

And by the way, though I think you know, that I will still care for you when we both grow old
