Dear Believer or Something Adjacent
after Bianca Stone’s “Dear Sir or Madam”
I left your brain on the side of the house.
His folds pungent
but I saw the flowers.
There was no ledge to hoist myself onto.
I am no coward.
My spirit of living is dead,
but my love of flies on a body—
I can’t tell you
how happy I am. We are all only this.
We are seized by thought,
maimed into realization by creation,
degraded by the Father and the Son,
thrown up by the putrescence,
bludgeoned by the carcass.
