On Friday December 12, 2014, Gandy Dancer will be hosting our fourth bi-annual launch party in the Hunt Room of the MacVittie College Union. We use our launch party to bring writers, readers, and editors together to celebrate the release of the issue. If another edition of the SUNY-wide literary magazine isn’t enough to draw you, there will be food as well. Thanks to a $200 grant from CAS, refreshments such as coffee and other drinks, cheese (lots of it), and spinach and artichoke dip will be provided (also, cake!). Enjoy these munchies while we hear excerpts from featured pieces read by contributors such as Nate Pritts, professor and alumni of Brockport. Other readers include Christina Mortellaro, Ethan Keeley, Devin Stabley-Conde, Chrissy Montelli, Erin Koehler, Savannah Skinner, and Katie Bockino.
I, along with the other editors who spent our semester reading and deliberating and editing and organizing, am very excited for the release of this issue, which showcases works of poetry, prose, and art from students across the SUNY community. At the party, the editors will be distributing custom merchandise such as pencils and buttons (represent your love for GD!) and selling Gandy Dancer “swag” including mugs, aluminum water bottles, and sweatshirts embellished with the GD logo and tagline—“connecting readers and writers since 2012.” Make sure to stop by and celebrate the talent—upcoming and established—that fills the pages of this SUNY fueled literary magazine! Visit our Facebook page for the invitation!
